1LT J. Kauffman
WARNING ORDER Operation Comanche III 004 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION TIME APR 27 1972 @ 1900 EST (0600 IGT) WEATHER: 75F (27C); Fog; Overcast; Wind 1kn NNE; Dawn 0600 IGT; Dusk 1800 IGT Since our operations began in Pulau province, we have eliminated the majority of NVA Forces, including an entire platoon of T-55s. We believe that their few remaining armored vehicles have pulled back with their Viet Cong counterparts to a small fortress on the northern tip of the Island, where they are getting supplied by Sea. This Fortress is very heavily garrisoned. In an effort to thin their ranks, we will be conducting an ambush on the VC infantrymen who often travel to the local villages at night to visit with their families and gather food. We will set up an ambush on the northern side of Taboko Village, using nightfall to get into position. The VC often leave their villages and head back to their strong points just before the sun rises. After eliminating any military aged males that exit the village at sunup, 1st Platoon will sweep the village, then call for resupply after the village is secure. From there 1st Platoon will head north and launch an assault on the last Communist Stronghold on the Island. It is believe that a few armored vehicles have retreated and are in the stronghold. It is also believed that the enemy possess light anti-air craft guns, such as twin 51mm DSHK emplacements. a. Once clear Rattler elements will drop off resupply and extra Light Anti-Tank Weapons (LAWs). 1st Platoon will then head north and launch an assault on the Vietnamese Stronghold (OBJ Bravo), clearing the entire camp, the dock, and destroying any strategic/tactical assets captured.
