Kauffman Posted August 3, 2019 Share Posted August 3, 2019 WARNING ORDER Operation Sabre 003 Iran - Zagros Mountains ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION TIME: August 3rd, 2019 @ 1900 EST (0600 IGT) WEATHER: 112F (44C); Clear; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0600 IGT; Dusk 1800 IGT Current Update on the Persian Gulf: The Iranians have a strong foothold along the Persian Gulf coast, and have continued to push through Oman and deep into Saudi Arabia. Iranian Forces have halted their advance into Iraq and have set up strong defensive positions along the Tigris and Euphrates river, believing that our main push would come through Baghdad. Coalition forces have successfully feinted an assault on Baghdad, and have diverted the majority of their forces south to push for Kuwait City, cutting off Iranian forces on the southern coast of the Gulf. Additionally another prong has been launched into Iran itself after exploiting the ongoing conflict with Kurdish Forces. The 1st Cavalry Division, along with several other Coalition units are in the process of penetrating the Zagros Mountains, and intend to come out the other side ready to strike Tehran itself. Iranian forces are few in our sector, however they are able to utilize the large Zagros mountains and have fortified the major passes, and will fight for every inch of ground. a. Friendly Forces 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvanian National Guard 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvanian National Guard 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, New York National Guard 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery Regiment, New York National Guard c. 2019s - Rules of Engagement On order from your commander, enemy military and paramilitary forces are declared hostile and may be attacked subject to the following instructions: Positive Identification (PID) is required prior to engagement. PID is a reasonable certainty that the proposed target is a legitimate military target. If no PID, contact your next highest commander for decision. Do not engage anyone who has surrendered, or is unarmed or wounded. Any requests for fire support or close air support within 600 Meters of a civilian center must first get authorization from commanding officer. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Maps of the Province: Notes from Commander: All requests for Close Air Support/Medevac/Resupply/Insertion are to go to Mako 1-6 on FREQ 60.0. Mako 1-6 will contact Rattler 1-6 on FREQ 50.0 to request an asset to assist 1st Platoon as necessary. Once the asset is in the area of Operation for Mako 1-6, Infantry can contact the bird via CAS Net FREQ 45.0 to guide in the bird/direct close air support. If an infantry element is in threat of being overrun and requires immediate assistance, they may declare a "Tactical Emergency" to Mako 1-6, who will then have Rattler 1-6 redirect all available air assets to Mako 1-6's Area of Operation to prevent the unit from being overrun. Be sure not to stray too far off the planned & assigned path, due to the high probability of undiscovered minefields. Be sure to stay within 1st Platoon's area of operation, venturing off course into 2nd or 3rd Platoon's AO could result in blue on blue. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ MISSION 1st Platoon, A. Company, 1/7th Cavalry 1st Platoon Our primary Objective will be spearhead through Iranian Defenses in the Mountain Passes, drawing fire, marking enemy strong points. clearing enemy ambushes, clearing Anti-Air Sites, etc PRIMARY TASKING: 1st Platoon will move to breach the Iranian's front line near the village of Dezemhir. SECONDARY TASKING: 1st Platoon will push through Route Nancy and Route Sussie, clearing enemy ambushes & danger areas, and anti-air sites. TERTIARY TASKING: 1st Platoon will Clear the village of Lotohafaz, and establish a defensive positions. 71st Assault Helicopter Company 71st AHC is to act as armored support for 1st Platoon PRIMARY TASKING: Proving Support for 1st Platoon.
