  1. WARNING ORDER Operation Red Inferno 004 Rosche, West Germany - 2021 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: 0000 IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: Rosche, West Germany 2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 50F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0755 IGT; Dusk 1825 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Farmland, Spruce Forests Following 1st Platoon's successful defense of Nestau, friendly armored and mechanized forces swarmed into the AO, which ultimately led to the recapture of several strategically relevant towns in the region. With the majority of the southern part of the AO recaptured, 1st Platoon has been re-tasked with assisting our partner forces in the north. The northern front has remained relatively stagnant over the past four weeks. However a recent intelligence finding suggests that a senior Soviet intelligence officer, Colonel Boris Osipov, plans to visit the town of Oetzen within the next 48 hours. While the exact reason for the Colonel's visit is unknown, it suggests that Russian forces in the northern half of the AO have grown more comfortable with their force movements. In an attempt to exploit the Soviet's deteriorating situational awareness, 1st Platoon has been tasked with capturing Colonel Osipov. Intelligence suggests that the Colonel plans to depart from the town of Schwemelitz in the dead of night on 6 November and make his way across the country side surveying several forward operating positions. As indicated in the images below, the Colonel plans to move through several towns including Bruchwedel, Testorf, Dormte, and ultimately Oetzen. 1st Platoon is to insert behind enemy lines, prepare to ambush and capture the Colonel, and evade enemy capture following the capture of Colonel Osipov. The successful capture of Colonel Osipov would result in a significant breakthrough on the intelligence front for our forces. a. TERRAIN: Farmland, Spruce Forests Following the failed rescue attempt of the UH-60 aircrew, 1st Platoon fled to the town of Nestau while being pursued by Soviet motorized and mechanized forces. 1st Platoon has successfully evaded Soviet forces for the time being, though it's only a matter of time before reinforcements swell into the AO and continue their search for our forces. 1st Platoon has been instructed to hold and defend the town of Nestau until friendly reinforcements arrive and secure the AO. Mako 6 has coordinated a resupply operation to support 1st Platoon while they attempt to hold Nestau. Rattler elements will be responsible for airdropping the resupply before daybreak and then provide close air support until 1st Platoon can be extracted by friendly forces. This operation doubles as both a coordinated rescue effort, as well as a major overarching offensive into Soviet territory by our friendly forces in the south of the AO. a. 3. WARNING ORDER Operation Red Inferno 002 Rosche, West Germany - 2021 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: TBD IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: Rosche, West Germany 2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 50F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0730 IGT; Dusk 1840 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Farmland, Spruce Forests Following 1st Platoon's rapid and successful dispatch of the Soviet anti-air and reconnaissance units near the town of Kahlstorf, nearby friendly units streamed into the AO to reinforce the new front. As indicated in the imagery below, 1st Platoon, as well as our West German counterparts, have repelled the Soviet forces in the northern and southern regions of the AO to a notable degree. With the newly established front in the south, our forces now have an opportunity to conduct an effective assault on several heavily fortified Soviet-occupied towns that would have otherwise resulted in a massive friendly casualties. Over the past week, friendly forces have conducted several reconnaissance operations behind Soviet lines near the towns of Gross Ellenberg, Nestau, and Batensen in preparation for the aforementioned assault. On Friday, October 15th, a UH-60 Blackhawk was shot down by a MANPAD somewhere near the towns of Nestau and Batensen after extracting a reconnaissance unit. UAV feeds suggest some aircrew members may have survived the crash after viewing Soviet personnel loading two incapacitated Americans into vehicles and driving into the town of Batensen. It is believed the aircrew members are being held captive and treated for their wounds in the town before being transported further behind enemy lines. Based on reports from the reconnaissance operations, the town of Nestau has seemingly been left abandoned following heavy shelling from the Soviets during their initial offensive in the region. This leaves the southeastern region of the AO relatively unoccupied, which provides an opportunity for 1st Platoon to retrieve the downed aircrew members in Batensen. Intelligence indicates the presence of several artillery emplacements just outside the town, which stand as a substantial threat to friendly forces back on the front. If possible following the security of the aircrew members, 1st Platoon is to destroy these emplacements and extract. a. Once the asset is in the area of Operation for Mako 1-6, Infantry can contact the bird via CAS Net FREQ 45.0 to guide in the bird/direct close air support. The crash site circle and marker indicates the approximate crash site of the UH-60. There is no requirement to search the crash site, though it is noted on the map as an indicator for increased enemy patrols in the area. 1st Platoon may opt to retrieve the bodies of friendly KIA around the crash site if desired. The "unknown" colored marker on the map inside the town of Nestau denotes the town as having been abandoned and unoccupied by enemy forces. If 1st Platoon chooses to stage their operation from Nestau, it should be noted that UXOs may be present within the town as a result of the shelling. It is unknown where specifically the Soviet artillery emplacements are set up within Batensen, however it should be noted that they will not be more than 500 meters from the town center. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ MISSION 1st Platoon, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment *SOF* 1st Platoon's primary objective is to secure and extract the two aircrew personnel from Batensen. 1st Platoon's secondary objective is to destroy Soviet artillery emplacements in Batensen. 71st Assault Helicopter Company Rattlers primary objective is to insert/extract 1st Platoon into the AO. TERRAIN: Rural Countryside Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, 2020. Afghanistan remains an active warzone as US forces continue their withdrawal from the country. Despite this, many challenges remain for the Afghan government and its people, especially this year with the outbreak of COVID-19. Many countries across the world have been impacted by the virus, including Afghanistan and its neighbors. With limited resources available to contain the spread, the Afghan government has called upon the United Nations and other associated NGOs, as well as the remaining US forces in the region to help minimize the spread and expand testing capabilities. In order to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the local government in Kandahar has restricted access to the international airport in the city. Checkpoints guarded by local ANA forces have been setup along multiple routes of entry and egress across the outskirts of the city. Similar checkpoints have also been setup across several main highways in the region. Each of these checkpoints also provides COVID-19 testing capabilities, courtesy of the International Development & Aid Project (IDAP). The Taliban/AQ have been waging low-intensity warfare against the Afghan government and its ISAF partners. Government establishments, as well as civilian centers have been the main victims of the insurgency in recent months and ISAF forces have also been regularly engaged by insurgent forces. Recently developed sources have discovered that the Taliban may be using the regional production of Opium/Cannabis to fund their insurgency operations. In order to quell the insurgency, ISAF forces must begin investigating the production of narcotics in the region and determine their legality. To do so, ISAF forces will need to establish stronger presence in these drug-producing regions. 1st Platoon's objective is to establish a foothold in the region by rebuilding two combat outposts in the Nefer River Valley, conducting a presence patrol through the valley and clearing a known IED-ridden compound, and meeting with a local village leader to discuss his village's production of narcotics. a. 9. WARNING ORDER OEF 001 - US Invasion of Afghanistan Afghanistan - Nangarhar Province __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: 0520 IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: Pachir Wa Agam District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan 2. WEATHER: Clear, 45F (7C); Wind 5kn NNE; Dawn 0555 IGT; Dusk 1830 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Mountainous October 7th, 2001, the first airstrikes from the United States meet their marks in Afghanistan following the September 11th attacks. In order to suppress the Taliban rule and influence, these airstrikes primarily targeted training camps and anti-air defenses in the region. Two weeks prior, several CIA Special Activities Division officers covertly inserted into the country and established a liaison team, paving the way for the incoming American military forces. These CIA officers would buy the support of the Northern Alliance, securing a secretive US foothold within the country. On October 18th, ODA Teams 555 and 595, along with Air Force Combat Controllers were airlifted via Chinook from an airbase in Uzbekistan across the Hindu Kush mountain range into Afghanistan to link up with the CIA and Northern Alliance fighters. In the weeks following, the ODAs, fighting along side their Northern Alliance counterparts, captured several key cities from the Taliban, establishing a stronger foothold in the region. US Conventional forces, as well as more special operations forces began pouring into the country and supporting the invasion effort, expediting the downfall of the Taliban. It's imperative that we continue the squelch the Taliban's influence as the months go on. 1st Platoon's objectives will be to locate and destroy three Taliban/Al-Qaeda training camps within the Dara-I-Pech Valley, kill or capture a known Taliban group commander (Mullah Abdul Zahir), and secure any intelligence within the camps. Many special operations teams stood out as the tip of the spear in the war effort against the Taliban. Along with ODAs 555 and 595, the 1st SFOD-D, otherwise known as Delta Force or the Unit, embedded within the Northern Alliance ranks in an effort to pursue the man responsible for 9/11, Osama Bin Laden. Their work revolved around the coordination of airstrikes, reconnaissance, and hunting down other key Taliban and Al-Qaeda leaders. Here are several reference photos depicting these teams in-country: ~Members of 1stSFOD-D pose for a photo shortly after an airstrike ~Members of 1st SFOD-D move through the mountains with Northern Alliance fighters. ~Members of 1st SFOD-D pose for a photo in an Afghan village. a.
