  11. WARNING ORDER Operation Comanche V 007 South Vietnam - I Corps - Quang Tri Province - Khe Sanh - 1967 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: 1400 IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: South Vietnam 2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 97F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0415 IGT; Dusk 1900 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Mountains, River Valley, Jungle, Rice Paddies, Rural After last weekends election & subsequent attack, the village of Nase has started rebuilding the ruins of their town. Aid and humanitarian relief has been flown in, as well as an entire Platoon of ARVN Regulars to take over operation of Patrol Base Ironside as well as providing security for Nase. Additionally, 1st Battalion's reconnaissance Platoon has returned from a two week treck in the bush, where they believe they have located the PAVN Battalion base camp. The camp is believed to be setup in the ruins of an old French Airfield that has been overgrown and covered by the jungle. The recon platoon located several vehicle bays, barracks, and an integrated anti-air network. They located three anti-aircraft sites on the outskirts of the base camp, as well as a Radar site on the south-western end of the compound. The camp has a fluid perimeter defense, and based upon their contact with the recon platoon + the presence of radar, we believe that the PAVN will know we are coming and prepare a staunch defense under their anti-air coverage. Battalion has located and selected three landing zones that the company will use, on the edge of the Anti-Air network. 1st Platoon will be landing at LZ Cherokee, a small saddle in the large highland mountain. 71st AHC will approach the LZ from the east, using the low ground as cover from the anti-air network & deposit 1st Platoon into the LZ. Expect a hot LZ. 1st Platoon will likely have to fight there way to the first Anti-Air site. From there 1st Platoon will attempt to penetrate the Base Camp & secure a series of barracks & vehicle bays on the east side of the overgrown runway. Securing this position quickly will 1) allow 1st Platoon to offer supporting fire to its sister platoons as they assault the rest of the Camp 2). Deny the enemy the ability to utilize their full arsenal of motorized & mechanized Support. 1st Platoon should be ready however to assist its Sister Platoon's if requested. a. 12. WARNING ORDER Operation Comanche V 006 South Vietnam - I Corps - Quang Tri Province - Khe Sanh - 1967 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: 1400 IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: South Vietnam 2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 97F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0415 IGT; Dusk 1900 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Mountains, River Valley, Jungle, Rice Paddies, Rural Recap from last week. 1st Platoon fanned out into the countryside. We disarmed & dispatched National Liberation Front (NLF) sympathizers in the villages of Doy, Nase, Thouc long. ARVN Civil Guard soldiers were flown into Nase & have established a barracks, where they will transition towards policing the village in our stead as we prepare to pack up. 1st Platoon will continue to Operate out of Patrol Base Ironside until local elections have concluded, and Alpha Company as located and eliminated the PAVN Battalion Base Camp. With our aid & under our protection, Nase has developed into a prospering town, that requires real leadership. Conversely Louang & Doy have been burnt to the ground, and NLF fighters have been killed, arrested, or dispersed into the countryside. Locals from all over the surrounding villages have moved to the growing town of Nase. Last weekend, we constructed a town hall and set the framework for a basic administration. This weekend elections are taking place to designate a Mayor to lead the village. 1st Platoon will establish a checkpoint to search the plethora of new immigrants to the village for weapons & NLF infiltrators attempting to sabotage the election. 1st Platoon will also patrol the village in order to stop suspected NLF infiltrators from assassinating the candidates or from causing terror. The leading candidates for Mayor of Greater Nase are Wang, a Chinese-Nung entrepreneur & Hoang, an elder from Louang, a village we assaulted last weekend. Additionally, last week, 1st Platoon located and neutralized the last known NLF Main Force Cell, operating within our Area of Operations(AO). 1st Platoon located maps & messages within the camp, and the intelligence confirms the presence of a People's Army of North Vietnam(PAVN) Base Camp in the highlands West of our AO. Additionally, the intelligence corroborate that the PAVN Battalion is some 300 fighters strong, possess a network of 14.5mm Quad-Anti-Aircraft guns, that they intended to give to & train the NLF Cell to use. We believe that the Anti-Aircraft guns meant to be given to the NLF cell rest atop Rock Hill, a suspected PAVN Observation Post. This weekend, 2nd Platoon A. Co, will be passing through our Area of Operations. As they possess armored M113 troop carriers, Company has ordered them to pierce the No Fly Zone & conduct reconnaissance through the remaining villages of the lowlands, and enter the highlands in search of the PAVN base camp, in hopes that we may prepare a company sized assault, in the coming weeks. 1st Platoon will remain on standby to act as QRF for 2nd Platoon. a. Enemy Disposition Vietcong Cell Due to your efforts last weekend, Main Force Viet Cong fighters have been wiped out. Remnants may still lurk among the locals of Nase to harass ARVN & US Forces. TERRAIN: Mountains, River Valley, Jungle, Rice Paddies, Rural Recap from last week. 1st Platoon's Patrol base Ironside was assaulted by a well equipped force. After sweeping the battle field, 1st Platoon captured several prisoners, intel & found the remains of well equipped PAVN regulars. After Prisoners were interrogated at Battalion & the intel was deciphered, it appears that the Vietcong Cell that made up the primary assault force was coordinated and supported by a detachment of PAVN Regulars. The prisoners 1st Platoon captured were members of a PAVN rifle company, and it is clear that a PAVN Battalion basecamp has been setup somewhere in the valley to the West of PB Ironside. Additionally, it seems that they have been supporting and supplying, via the waterway & mountain passes, two Vietcong Cells operating in the vicinity of PB Ironside. 1st Platoon has already located and destroyed the Vietcong Cell operating to the northeast of PB Ironside. From the intelligence gathered, it is evident that the Vietcong cell operating to the West-Southwest, has successfully infiltrated the local villages and gathered support from many of the locals. First Platoon's objectives over the next two-three missions will be to: 1. search and disarm the locals who have taken up arms against the RVN, 2. reorganize the surrounding villages into one large town, 3. establish a barracks for ARVN troops, 4. construct a RVN City hall, 5. allow election & elevation of a loyal local to lead the new village for the RVN administration, 6. to locate and destroy both the Vietcong Cell & the illusive PAVN Battalion base camp. a. 23. WARNING ORDER Operation Mercury Mediterranean - Crete - May 20 1941 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: 1400 IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: Crete, Greece 2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 97F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0415 IGT; Dusk 1900 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Mountains, Highlands, Rolling plains At 0800, the first wave of Paratroopers attempted to seize 4 vital airfields on the island of Crete by surprise. Reports are currently unclear, however it seems that the British expected our feigned naval assault and instead were prepared to repel the assaults on the airfields from behind. Heavy Anti-Aircraft fire as well as prepared positions have scattered our first wave, and none of our objectives have been taken. Contact has been minimal with the surviving forces on the ground. We will be going in with the 2nd Wave. Our Battalion's objective is to seize Maleme Airfield, so that further reinforcements may land, along with heavy equipment such as artillery and panzers. Maleme Airfield is the smallest and northern most airfield on Crete. It was believed to be lightly defended, and contained a flight of enemy fighters and reconnaissance aircraft. Contact with our Sister battalion, who had been tasked with the same mission, has been inconsistent. The reports that have made their way back to us have been disastrous. As of noon today, the 2nd Battalion managed to take Hill 252, overlooking the airfield, with some four hundred casualties; however, due to lack of manpower and supplies, the battalion has not been able to conduct an assault on the airfield. This information is now hours old, and we have received no further contact. Their last known position was atop Hill 252. At 1400, our Company will be dropping into landing zone Martha, east of Hill 252. We will assemble with the rest of the company atop Hill 252, assist the 2nd Battalion, then move with them to seize Maleme Airfield. Once Maleme Airfield is secure, we must hold off and British Counter-attacks for as long as necessary for the Luftwaffe transports to land with our Panzers and reinforcements. a. Enemy Disposition Large Disposition of New Zealand & Australian Infantry 3rd Battalion NZ Provisional Infantry garrisoned on the Airfield 17th Australian Infantry Regiment operating in the Area An Artillery Company is reported to be attached with the NZ Provisional A Company of Tanks is reported to be attached to the Australian Infantry Regiment Several Anti-Aircraft Battery's are in position around the airfield and surrounding countryside. b.
