SITUATION

OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST

 

IN-GAME TIME: 0400 IGT

 

ORGANIZATION:

1. REGION: Rosche, West Germany

2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 50F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0725 IGT; Dusk 1850 IGT

3. TERRAIN: Farmland, Spruce Forests

October 2021, Tensions between East and West Germany have boiled over after an East German-initiated engagement broke out between opposing German forces near the border town of Boizenburg. As as result, East German forces, as well as their neighboring Soviet counterparts, have begun pushing across the West-East border and successfully annexed West Berlin. Several brigades of US and West German forces have already been deployed to key strategic cities and towns across the whole of the country to repel the incoming Soviet advance. The 1st Cavalry Division has been deployed to Rosche, Germany, a key strategic enclave situated just southeast of the West German city of Lüneburg. 1st Cav will be supported by their West German sister unit, the Rapid Forces Division and attempt to hold off the Soviet advance and reoccupy annexed territory in the region.

1st Platoon will be augmenting as a Special Forces unit, which will operate in direct and indirect support of the larger conventional force for the duration of this campaign. In order to gain the upper hand against out adversary, air superiority much be achieved. 1st Platoon's initial objective for this campaign will be to conduct a search and destroy operation against a Soviet anti-air site, which is actively preventing friendly air assets in the region from providing support.

    3. Heavy static & mobile anti-air, IR + Radar based platforms.

b. Friendly Disposition

  1. 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division

  3. 1st Airborne Brigade, West German Rapid Forces Division
  4. Special Forces Command (KSK), West German Rapid Forces Division

c. 2021 - Rules of Engagement

  1. PID Targets, engage at will.
  2. An evacuation notice has been issued in the region, though some civilians may still be present in surrounding towns and villages. Avoid civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure when possible, though higher authority has declared the AO a free-fire zone on confirmed hostiles.

Notes from Commander:

  • All requests for Close Air Support/Medevac/Resupply/Insertion are to go to Mako 1-6 on FREQ 60.0. Mako 1-6 will contact Rattler 1-6 on FREQ 50.0 to request an asset to assist 1st Platoon as necessary. Once the asset is in the area of Operation for Mako 1-6, Infantry can contact the bird via CAS Net FREQ 45.0 to guide in the bird/direct close air support.

MISSION

 

1st Platoon, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment *SOF*

1st Platoon's primary objective is to conduct a search and destroy operation against a Soviet anti-air site situated to the north of Kahlstorf village.

1st Platoon's secondary objective* is to conduct airstrikes on and/or assault the Soviet reconnaissance battalion stationed within Kahlstorf itself. This optional objective is to be completed following the destruction of the enemy air defenses. 

*1st Platoon will have a variety of assets at their disposal upon request for infil/exfil.

*2nd Platoon will be assaulting the town of Kahlstorf to eliminate the enemy Reconnaissance Battalion

 

71st Assault Helicopter Company

Rattlers primary objective is to transport 1st Platoon if requested.

Rattlers secondary objective is to provide aerial reconnaissance via unmanned stealth platforms.

Rattlers tertiary objective is to provide close air support once enemy air defenses have been dispatched.

*If desired, Rattler units may opt to augment alongside Mako elements as infantry.

3. EXECUTION

PHASE I -  Camp Reagan

a. At 0400 Zulu Time, 1st Platoon will load into the server grabbing their loadouts and standby for briefing.

b. At 0430 Zulu Time, 1st Platoon will load into M-ATV's at Camp Reagan and begin movement to AO Tiger.

 

PHASE II - AO TIGER

a. 1st Platoon will do a soft dismount at OP 1 and recon the Anti-Air Battalion and mark enemies on map.

b. Once the Platoon Leader is pleased with recon, 1st Platoon will then move to RP alpha

PHASE III - Preparation for Assault

a. 1st Squad will move from RP Alpha to AP 1 to stage for the assault.

b. 2nd Squad will hold at RP Alpha awaiting 1st Squad to move into an assaulting position.

c. 2nd Squad will be responsible for the M-ATV's

 

 

PHASE IV - Assaulting the AA Battalion

a. Once 1st Squad is in position 2nd Squad will move to SBF Alpha

b. 1st Squad will then make contact with the enemy destroying any hard targets with MAAWs/AT4's 

c. 2nd Squad will provide Support by Fire with the M-ATV's M2's and Mk19 respectively 

d. 1st Squad will move  into the Camp and prepare to demo any targets found.

e. 1st Platoon will then consolidate and move to BP 2

PHASE V - Hasty Defense 

a. 1st Platoon will hold at BP 2 and set up a hasty defense preparing for QRF from the enemy forces.

b. Once QRF is dealt with or subsides 1st Platoon will remount their vehicles and RTB to Camp Reagan.

 

PHASE VI- Endex

a. 1st Platoon will return to Camp Reagan and endex will be called.

 

 

 

**Special Instructions**

- All requests for fire will come to the Platoon Leader first.

- Reinserts will be done via helicopter. If you die, it may be some time before you are returned to the fight, so be careful. 

- All members will carry 1 x Personal Aid Kit, 1 x 500ml Blood, 1 x Incendiary Grenade
