Operation Red Inferno 005

Rosche, West Germany - 2021

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

SITUATION

OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST

IN-GAME TIME: 0200 IGT

ORGANIZATION:

1. REGION: Rosche, West Germany

2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 50F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0755 IGT; Dusk 1825 IGT

3. TERRAIN: Farmland, Spruce Forests, Villages

As a result of the successful capture of the enemy officer Colonel Osipov during 1st Platoons last operation we have gained intel on an enemy stronghold and supply point to the North of Rosche. Allied forces have now moved no mans land further towards some key enemy occupied villages and towns. However, to ensure this push continues 1st Platoon are tasked with causing havoc behind enemy lines. From the intel gathered we have located a town called Testorf, this town is heavily defended with no routes in or out, every road around the village is barricaded by the enemy so a vehicle assault is not possible. Within the town lay a vehicle and resupply depot, it is also believed that there is a communications center in the town.

The disruption to enemy supply lines and communications would greatly benefit the aim of NATO forces allowing for a further push in from the South without risk of a counter attack from the North.

Intelligence & UAV imagery:

Allied forces have been able to a deploy a drone and have captured the below images of the village. Be aware these images are over 48 hours old so enemy disposition within the town may change. x1 UAZ DShKM has been spotted patrolling the circular road around the village. A tank has been spotted inside the vehicle depot, it is unknown if this is operational. Multiple roadblocks are in place, a few of these have enemy APC's defending them. Multiple radio antennas have been spotted at the communications centre. Intercepted communications suggest that after these images were taken the town has been further reinforced with more infantry. The grid references on the UAV imagery are correct at the time the image was taken.

Notes from Commander:

  • All requests for Close Air Support/Medevac/Resupply/Insertion are to go to Mako 1-6 on FREQ 60.0. Mako 1-6 will contact Rattler 1-6 on FREQ 50.0 to request an asset to assist 1st Platoon as necessary. Once the asset is in the area of Operation for Mako 1-6, Infantry can contact the bird via CAS Net FREQ 45.0 to guide in the bird/direct close air support.
  • Given the covert nature of this operation, ISR and CAS capabilities will be available but limited. 1st Platoon may opt to carry and deploy a quadcopter-style drone with them to better establish their situational awareness prior to attack.
