Operation 008 - After weeks of fighting & civil action missions, 1st Platoon has stabilized the situation in Sei Na and Kouthi. After conducting search and destroy missions to the east, it has become clear that communist influence has swept the entire valley. Battalion and district headquarters are allocating more resources to the pacification of the valley. American assets in the area are tied up with a developing situation further south. General Nguyen Duc Thang of District headquarters is allocating a rifle platoon from his 14th Battalion as well as a unit from the Revolutionary Development Corps (RD), youth volunteers tasked with construction efforts in Sei Na, Kouthi, and Nase. In order to ensure the stability of the valley, 1st Platoon will conduct reconnaissance and raid the located Communist Party Prisoner/Reeducation camp, in an attempt to rescue many of the district officials from the neighboring village of Nase and will reinstall them to secure the eastern flank of Sei Na and Kouthi.
