This is taking place due to mission failure last week. I've deleted the AAA so fly guys can do cool guy CAS strikes or straight transport/resupply if the ground leader is ok with it. Situation: A Co, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine regiment launched an amphibious assault operation on the capital city of Georgetown. Although they were successful they are down to about 2 rifle platoons and half of their weapons platoon. Alpha company is reporting that they are inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. Based on reports from an undercover CIA agent, named Jack Ryan under the alias of Lee Phong, we believe that the NVA isn’t worried about casualties as long as they can keep up the logistical base operating in the area to support the attack on the Marines at Georgetown. Before Agent Ryan could give the exact location on the logistical base he was outed as an american spy and is now presumably captured or dead. Ryan was operating in the town of Vagala before he went dark. Any other type of invasion isn’t possible as 2/7 is spread thin enough trying to maintain order on the surrounding islands as well as supporting Alpha company in Georgetown.
Mission: At 0400 local time insert near the town of Vagala and establish a Listening Post to observe the town for any VC activity. Once you are able to identify the VC headquarters, infiltrate the town, and find intel on the location of the PAVN supply depot. Once you have the location then move to and destroy the depot. This mission is time critical and if the supply depot can not be located and destroyed soon then Alpha company could be wiped out and the enemies support on the surrounding islands could be increased dramatically.
Enemy Forces: 324th Battalion, 812th regiment is known to be operating on the island along with a detachment of enemy armor acting as QRF. We also believe that a commando team is conducting ambushes in the area on Marine patrols. Most of the PAVN forces have established a defensive line around Alpha company, however there are still VC cells working in the villages throughout the island. We believe that the PAVN has left only 1 platoon to guard the supply depot.
Friendly Forces: A Co, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine regiment is defending Georgetown to the west and is under heavy siege. The rest of 2nd Battalion is occupying the surrounding islands trying to rout out VC in the villages. 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment should be joining the marines on the island in about 2 weeks time to help with the occupation and invasion of the main island.
