1. SITUATION:

With 1st Platoon completely surrounded, running low on supplies, and undermanned, Patrols have halted completely until 1st Platoon can be resupplied. Rattler elements are launching a daring resupply mission at 1920 IGT, so that 1st Platoon can continue operations.

a. 2006s - Rules of Engagement

On order from your commander, enemy military and paramilitary forces are declared hostile and may be attacked subject to the following instructions:

  1. Positive Identification (PID) is required prior to engagement. PID is a reasonable certainty that the proposed target is a legitimate military target. If no PID, contact your next highest commander for decision.
  2. Do not engage anyone who has surrendered, or is unarmed or wounded.
  3. Any requests for fire support or close air support within 600 Meters of a civilian center must first get authorization from commanding officer.

2. MISSION

- 1st Platoon will not be conducting patrols today due to a lack of ammunition, and heavy enemy presence in the heart of Sangin. Patrols will later in the week. 1st Platoon will continue to hold its ground in FOB Alamo; Due consistent volley's of RPG fire on FOB Alamo, Rattler Elements will be para dropping supplies from the air, outside of the range of enemy rocket propelled grenades. 1st Platoon will resupply, repair the FOB, and prepare for operations that night. Under the cover of Darkness, 1st Platoon will slip out of the western gate and move to capture a high value Taliban leader, organizing the attacks in Sangin.
