WARNING ORDER Operation Enduring Iron Fist 002 Afghanistan - Kunduz - 2014 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SITUATION OPERATION TIME: 1900 EST IN-GAME TIME: 0430 IGT ORGANIZATION: 1. REGION: Kunduz, Afghanistan 2. WEATHER: Clear Skies; 38F ; Wind <1kn NNE; Dawn 0415 IGT; Dusk 0400 IGT 3. TERRAIN: Mountains, Arid Following on from the presence patrol 1st Cavalry Division performed into the village of Kar Shek a large number of Taliban forces have been attacking FOB Prince relentlessly for the past week. The unit have suffered multiple casualties and KIA's. With no end in sight, SF units were called in to strike strategic locations in the area in hope that this would disrupt the Taliban's attacks. This however, has come at a cost, and an SF unit has gone missing, as well as the insertion helicopter they were in. With little intelligence as to where the unit is hopes are fading of finding them alive, their last GPS locations were from 2 days ago. Nothing has been heard from the unit since and the GPS trackers have now stopped working. Although under heavy attack the only units in the area are the 1st Cavalry Division, running low on supplies and ammunition. The British Royal Marines stationed 35KM to the North are unable to provide ground assistance as they are in the same situation. a. Enemy Disposition Heavy Disposition of Taliban Fighters Well equipped foreign fighters trained in Pakistan Anti-Air, Mortar, and Rocket emplacements IED's and VBIEDS are common in the area. b. Friendly Disposition ~ 2 Platoons of British Royal Marines Highly skilled in combat - low on supplies and ammunition Manning x2 British FOB's in the area Able to provide mortar cover. c. 2000s - Rules of Engagement On order from your commander, enemy military and paramilitary forces are declared hostile and may be attacked subject to the following instructions: Positive Identification (PID) is required prior to engagement. PID is a reasonable certainty that the proposed target is a legitimate military target. If no PID, contact your next highest commander for decision. Do not engage anyone who has surrendered, or is unarmed or wounded. Any requests for fire support or close air support within 600 Meters of a civilian center must first get authorization from commanding officer. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Maps of the Province: Tal Kar Anbar Tappeh Notes from Commander: All requests for Close Air Support/Medevac/Resupply/Insertion are to go to Mako 1-6 on FREQ 60.0. Mako 1-6 will contact Rattler 1-6 on FREQ 50.0 to request an asset to assist 1st Platoon as necessary. Once the asset is in the area of Operation for Mako 1-6, Infantry can contact the bird via CAS Net FREQ 45.0 to guide in the bird/direct close air support. If an infantry element is in threat of being overrun and requires immediate assistance, they may declare a "Tactical Emergency" to Mako 1-6, who will then have Rattler 1-6 redirect all available air assets to Mako 1-6's Area of Operation to prevent the unit from being overrun. Expect the enemy to utilize grenades when in close combat. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ MISSION 1st Platoon, A. Company, 1/7th Cavalry 1st Platoon is tasked with finding the downed helicopter and lost patrol. GPS last reports the position in the Village of Tal Kar (OBJ Alpha). Return the bodies to their families and retrieve any wounded. You are then to move to Anbar Tappeh (OBJ Bravo), a known Taliban stronghold in the area and deny the Taliban use of the area. 1st Platoon PRIMARY TASKING: 1st Platoon will move into Tal Kar and retrieve dead and wounded. Destroy any remains of US Equipment. SECONDARY TASKING: 1st Platoon will move into Anbar Tappeh and deny the Taliban use of the village and ensure high casualties are sustained to the Taliban TERTIARY TASKING: Destroy and IED's, weapons caches and emplacements. Deny the Taliban the use of them again. 71st Assault Helicopter Company PRIMARY TASKING: Provide supplies and medevac support from FOB Capitol SECONDARY TASKING: Provide CAS if required by ground element.
